Dell U2713HM Review
By Chris Heinonen on
I am often very clear that I am a large fan of Dell’s LCD Monitors. They use very good panels, have nice, ergonomic stands with lots of adjustments, and have a well done OSD that makes it easy to make adjustments and keeps it simple. They also have almost any size and type of display available, so almost anyone can find a display they might want from them. One of their most recent displays is the U2713HM, a high resolution 27″ display that uses LED backlighting and an LG LCD panel.
What really sets the U2713HM apart from the pack is the performance straight out of the box. Many companies promise to have an accurate sRGB preset out of the box, but the Dell U2713HM has an sRGB mode that is more accurate than any we have ever tested by far. Colors are spot on, and the overall look of the screen is very nice with only a little bit of anti-glare coating applied that doesn’t distract. The included calibration sheet shows how Dell measured the display and their results, and for once it doesn’t seem to lie.
I’ve reviewed most of the 27″ 2560×1440 monitors out on the market at this point, and I can say that for 99% of people the Dell U2713HM is going to be the best model out there. Great performance, a fantastic screen and stand, and an excellent warranty make it a very good pick. It’s often on sale from Amazon and others for less than the asking price, so it is a truly great value as well. My pick for a 27″ monitor right now, and the one monitor I’ve sent back after a review that I really wish I still had on my desk.
