HP 2311xi LCD Monitor Review

By Chris Heinonen on August 12, 2012

When I reviewed the 27″ HP ZR2740w LCD monitor, I found that HP had done a very good job in choosing what features were essential and what could be cut to make a price, but not sacrifice quality.  Shortly after that they announced a new 23″ desktop LCD, the HP 2311xi, that uses an IPS panel with an LED backlight, and still sells for only $200 online.

Has HP gone back and done the same thing they did before, only with a smaller size screen in the HP 2311xi?  Did they have to cut too many corners to get to this price, and will the performance out-of-the-box suffice, or do you need dedicated calibration equipment to pull out good performance?  I did a full review of the display at AnandTech where you can see how the HP 2311xi performed and if it is worth you hard earned money.
