Nixeus VUE 27 Review – 27″, 2560×1440 IPS Monitor

By Chris Heinonen on September 22, 2012

People the past few months have been going crazy over imported IPS monitors from Korea.  Able to be bought for $300 or so off eBay, these feature IPS panels that run at 2560×1440 resolution at far less than it can be bought for in the USA.  Of course, they also only have a DVI input, no OSD, sub-standard build quality and an unknown warranty.  With the popularity of these no-frills panels, Nixeus has stepped up and come out with a similar display, the Nixeus VUE 27, but with more features (DisplayPort input, speakers, OSD, and more) for a list price in the USA of $430.

Nixeus provided AnandTech with the only review unit of the monitor and I then put it through its paces.  Overall I found it to be a very competent performer, and one that most people would be very happy to use for daily productivity but might have a couple hang-ups for gamers or graphics professionals.  You can read the full Nixeus VUE 27 review at AnandTech to see if it is worth the price and what features you lose by not paying $650 or more for a display.
