Oppo BDP-103 Universal Blu-ray Player Review
By Chris Heinonen on
For years now, Oppo has led the way with their DVD and Blu-ray players. They aren’t always the first to market with features, but when they come out, they always are at the head of the class in performance, for both audio and video. Their last players the BDP-93 and BDP-95, were fantastic machines that still have the best video we have seen, and optional audio that is better than almost anything available no matter the price. So when it came time for a new set of players, the main question was what would they add?
Well, Oppo is once again leading the industry by packing their players with video processing for external sources, a first in a Blu-ray player. Now you can leverage the powerful QDEO processing inside of the Oppo BDP-103 to improve the image from your cable box, video game system, AppleTV, or any other HDMI source you have in your system. You also can have access to more online content than before, and much better playback of networked audio content. All of this gets added on top of the already stellar audio and video performance that Oppo is so well known for.
Over at Secrets of Home Theater and High Fidelity, we once again have provided the most in-depth review of the Oppo Blu-ray player out there, and my full review of the Oppo BDP-103 is now available for reading. Go over and take a look to see how Oppo manages to keep putting out the players that everyone else is trying to catch up to.
