Deadpool 2 Summary
Ryan Reynolds returns for the second time Wade Wilson, dawning the black and red spandex of the Marvel superhero Deadpool. This time he enlists the help of a few mutants in an effort to save a young boy headed in the wrong direction.
Deadpool 2 Review
Deadpool 2 nearly lives up to the original. It continues the trend of well-choreographed gruesome fight sequences and constant witty narrative from Wade. The story might not be quite as tight as the first, but I felt the emotion in this one. The humor is solid with an epic moment between Deadpool and Colossus. An easy add to your movie collection.
Deadpool 2 Technical Review
Deadpool 2 looks very good considering its 2k digital intermediate. Most scenes have a lot of detail, with a few looking a tad soft. HDR grading seemed a bit subtle and left me hoping for more pop. Although, fire and explosions, as well as Cable’s bionic eye, definitely jumped off the screen.
The Dolby Atmos soundtrack is great, with tons impact and energy. When Cable arrives at the prison, the low frequencies are intense, really pulling the viewer into the scene. I would have liked a bit more use of the height channels, but overall the surround channels are used effectively. Even the opening credits featuring Celine Dion sounds very good, filling the home theater like a concert hall.

Summary
Love it. One of my favorites in the Marvel series.

The scene with Shatterstar and the helicopter was a great example of how surround sound can be used. I won’t say anymore, to prevent spoilers for anyone who hasn’t seen it, but a nice quick pan around the room using every speaker. Also a good way to test if your surround sound is set up right!
