According to the notes from Fox, this will be loaded up with almost all the extras from past Blu-ray versions and it includes a new DTS:X soundtrack. There is no mention of if there is a new 4K scan done or not, but almost certainly the VFX are not being redone at higher resolution. With a new film coming out this might just be trying to capture that audience, but if it's a new scan it might be the best looking version of Independence Day we will get.
