Flat panel HDTVs have moved from high end statement pieces to consumable goods at this point.  Technology has trickled down faster and faster to models in the product line.  Features that cost hundreds of dollars extra even a couple years ago are now standard on every model out there it seems at this point.  Much of that technology has made its way into the Toshiba 50L5200U LCD TV.

The Toshiba 50L5200U LCD TV comes in at the middle of their lineup and has features that would have been on a top line model just recently: LED lighting, 120 Hz refresh rates, gaming modes, and more.  It also includes a MicroHDMI port for your compatible smartphone, and Audyssey sound technology, but comes in at under $1,100 for a 50″ display.  Having the features and performing well are two different things, so Stephen Hornbrook and I take a look at the Toshiba 50L5200U over at Secrets of Home Theater to see how well it performs and if it is worth taking a look at.
